Blogworthy

Banana nut bread with black walnuts and orange glaze. Served warm with butter. Sigh.

Stoup and a biscuit . . . two bits! Seriously, this soup was spectacular. Try to melt some parm on your meatballs. That is my advice. Yum! Some leftover corn found its way into the stoup, and a bay leaf, some Italian seasoning, and a clove of garlic and lot of black pepper. Yum.

Well, only one casualty because of church. I have been chauffeuring the folks and  Joe to church because it is hard to get a good parking spot. It was snowing, and had been all day, so there was talk of them going tomorrow instead of tonight. No way man! I have no intention of getting dressed tomorrow! I kept my outside clothes on all day today even my bra because I knew I had to go out to do my driving duties! LOL  Everything went OK on the drop off. Well, on the way into the house, Joe was waiting for Dad, I was backing up, trying to stop strategically so we wouldn't lose Dad in a snowdrift or something, and I saw Mom go down. Joe was right by her, with his back to her lol. I'm not sure what he thought my wild gesticulations were about, but finally he realized she had taken a header. While I was trying to get him to turn around, I saw her start to get up and boom, down she went again. I know what she was doing, I've done it myself. You want to get up really fast; if you are successful it's like it cancels out the fall and no one needs to know. It NEVER happened. Well, it backfired on her this time. I ask her later if she is OK, maybe she should take an ibuprofen or something in case she is sore tomorrow. She said she was fine, that it was a very soft landing. I said what happened, did you slip, and she said no, she thinks she just walked into a huge pile of snow. Just walked right into it . . . lolol and fell on top of it. Good thing she's pretty sturdy for a 76 year old. Definitely could have been worse. And turns out Mom was probably right. She thought it was crazy to be out on a snowy night like that.

And because karma is a bitch, I'm sure I'll be falling soon.

  1. Oops I guess the casualty wasn't because of church, it was because of the weather . . .
